Description
"A good bouldering area called the Sandy Bottom Boulders will be found at Chilao. Directions: Turn into Chilao at Newcomb's Ranch Restaurant and proceed up the road until near the end and park at a yellow gate on the left. Hike downhill past the gate for about 20 minutes. The road turns into a trail and leads to a waterfall. Scramble down the waterfall or around to the left to reach the boulders." -Craig Fry, Southern California Bouldering Guide. Falcon Guides, 1990
Commentary
I'm not really sure where this is. But it's very interesting that this was included in the 1990 first edition but not the 1995 second edition. From the north edge of the Chilao Campground I walk down into a wash. Sometimes the creek is dry, sometimes especially in the Spring it can be very wet. There are boulders and short walls, and deep pools leading to waterfalls and cliffs.

4 September 2018 Nick and I go for a climb in the creek. We went as far as we could and were stopped by a deep pool.
