Description

"Hey everyone, I just finished up at my secret spot up Angeles Crest. I've been working on the routes for the past 2 years. Most of the routes are sport routes, but some require a cam or a sling for a tree. There's even a multipitch route too. Some of the routes were bolted on rappel because I couldn't drag anyone out to belay me. But some were put up ground up onsite on lead. The rock is bomber granite with tons of weird features and movements. I'm really surprised this area had never been developed knowing the so cal history of routes, so I am really lucky and stoked to be the one that got to develop it. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Directions - Drive about 45 mins up Angeles Crest Highway from the 210 to Buckhorn Campground. Drive into the campground and park at the burkhart trail head. Walk about 15 mins down the trail and then make a right turn down a steep trail.

Walk down to trail and you'll get to a small pool above a waterfall. You can rap down into the climbing area on the left side. Or walk up the hill and then down a big gully.

The first wall you'll see is the Fish Wall with 4 routes from 5.7-5.9.

Theres some small ledges with some janky bolts to clip to while you're belaying.

Just down from the fish wall there is an amazing 5.11a called Shark Bait. I bolted this on lead and to me its a 5 star route. Its got so many cool moves, some exposure, a multipitch feel and it's hard and pumpy. Theres also a rad double roof crack that leads up to the same anchors.

If you keep walking down stream for like 2 mins and then walk up the right side you'll get to the slant wall. The slant wall has a short fun 5.10a and 5.7 on it." -Tristan Burnham 09/27/2013 SuperTopo
