Description
Especially now that The Fang is broken, B1 Boulder is the most common place you will find folks. B1 Boulder is adjacent to Thin Crack and The Blank Generation Boulder (which has The Wave problem on it too) so it's a great place to climb with a bajillion problems around you.
Not the easiest boulder to get off of. You could use the dead tree, but that's kinda sketchy. You can downclimb above the start of B1 Traverse, that's a good option. It's also good to downclimb the side opposite of B1 Traverse where the dyno problem is. You downclimb climber's RIGHT of the dyno problem (There's a tricky hand foot match to downclimb). Alternatively, and this is what I do, I jump from there to the boulder below. Once you get used to the jump, it is the fastest easiest way down in my oppinion.
Called the T Boulder in the 5 Star guide.
B Grades
"Originally, B1 indicated a boulder problem that was 5.11 or harder. B2 indicated a boulder problem that was considerably more difficult than a B1 problem; and B3 was an even harder problem, so difficult, in fact, that only one person had ever succeeded in climbing it. If any B3 problem was ever repeated, the rating was automatically downgraded to B2. Since John Gill's time, the standard of difficulty has progressed, as has the YDS, and B1 has been transformed into the standard 'very hard' problem, equalling 5.12." Craig Fry page 2.
